Free Flight: Together Again After 30 Years

Posted by on September 24, 2011

Free Flight first hit the music scene in central Alabama in the late ’70s. In the years that followed, these teenagers and young adults grew up, had families, and most of them moved away from Montgomery. Thanks to Facebook, the distance and time became inconsequential, and the band was able to reunite. After they returned to the stage and started playing together, they realized that they wanted to keep doing this.

Music runs through their veins, and is a foundation of the love that they have for each other, which has brought this band back to life after nearly three decades.

Correction (9/25/11): The video originally showed James “Mr. R” Robinson as the band manager. This is incorrect. The manager (as well as the Stage manager and sound and light man) for Free Flight is Billy Jones. This has been corrected.
